Veuve Clicquot Brut Yellow Label is a non-vintage champagne from this famous Reims-based Champagne house, a brand division of Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessey. The traditional blend for Yellow Label is about half Pinot Noir (50-55%), a third Chardonnay (28-33%) and a fifth Pinot Meunier (15-20%). The House prides itself on the consistency of its blend for this golden yellow sparkler. Open a bottle today and you are likely to be greeted with varietal aromatics of white fruit and raisin, followed by brioche and vanilla, by-products of the bottle-ageing process. As this duet between fruit and spice plays out on the palate, Pinot Meunier supplies finesse for a well-rounded finish. This champagne is versatile and will pair with almost any food, from some of the stronger cheeses to heartier white meat dishes, and is a crowd-pleaser on its own as apertif or late-night sipper.
