The 2004 Bailey Vineyard Syrah from Four Vines received an impressive 93 pts from Wine Spectator, with the following commentary: “An inspiring Syrah, rich, ripe and intense, yet fleshy. Layers ofblackberry, wild berry, plum and raspberry notes, with pretty spice andpepper scents. Finishes with fine-grained tannins and a long finish.I'm tempted to say this is the best Sierra Foothills wine I've evertasted. Enjoy it now for its youthful exuberance. The 2005 is another stunner. A pleasing perfume of blossoms underlies the more forward raspberry, blackberry, and currant on the nose. Structured to age, this beautiful syrah will evolve nicely over the next five years, but is delightful now.
